Torts test: that could have been shittier.

Then I went out with a bunch of mature students to the Occidental for brunch and, er, rum-and-ginger-beer, and we chatted for an hour about how difficult it is to not be entirely immersed in the student lifestyle and have time to, like, talk about class directly after class, and about how this is mitigated by not being entirely immersed in the student lifestyle and therefore having money to do things like pay rent and buy shoes. We're maybe going to get a study group going on Saturday afternoons; I'm very excited.

SO. For the rest of the weekend, and for the next two weeks, I can play computer games and read non-Law books at my leisure and not feel the slightest guilt at doing so. Whee!
let's ignore our mothers
So I just spent 5 hours playing Spore.

It's kind of. Like, an 8 year old could figure out how to play this game, and up until the Space phase I was not that impressed by anything but the frankly beautiful graphics, and then... holy fuck, space is large!

My hands are twitching and I cannot see, so I'm going to bed now. Oh my god, gaming. *faceplant*

Sucks To Be Me

Heroes and dragons
Just played Civ III for like five hours straight and am now slightly shaky - I played the Egyptians this time and was going fairly well until it turned out that signing a military alliance with everyone against the Greeks coz they attacked me and then retracting it to make peace with them on account of not being bothered to, like, build military units or move them around or anything - turns out that if you retract things like that it's way less likely that anyone will be your friend two hundred years later when, say, the Romans and the French sign a military alliance against you. Yeah.

I was still way ahead when I gave up, figuring that a war with me frantically trying to pull enough tanks down to my southern border to knock out their piece of shit cavalry and Those Dudes With The Shields And Crap would get in the way of winning through culture! And also I was really tired. Still, my second best game in the history of ever according to my final score. Um. Part of this could be that I'm not so good at loading saved games and playing on later, though. Should really get around to that sometime.

I don't like roleplaying because I don't have enough control over what the people on my side are doing. Computer games are more fun for me in the sense that I know what I'm doing - and I do usually have some kind of plan - but the computer opponents? Have no mercy. At least I wasn't near the Germans or the Zulus this time - those two civilisations seem to be in particular bad for, like, attacking you without warning. In Civ III at least.

Am at Oh God Crazy Bitch stage of I Wish I'd Gone To Bed Earlier Last Night, complete with sore eyes, hunched shoulders, and a nagging pain in my right elbow. Went bowling for work Rewards and Recognition slash Building Our Team Relationships exercise; quite fun, even though I am uncoordinated like whoa.

Am also downloading 1.04 and 1.05 of Dexter, which from what little I've heard just keeps getting better. Yay for psychotic serial killers slash bloodspatter experts.

Played sandbox-styles Civ III for like three hours this evening until I realised that I was going to do something stupid like attack the only other civilisation in my pared-down I Want To Know What The High Tech Is world. Yawn.

To bed, I say, to bed.

You know what wins? Unlimited broadband wins. I have a cd-burning program and DS 3.04 downloading as I type and they're both going relatively fast andandand I don't have to worry about being dumped back to dial-up if I go over my gig limit!

Grabbed the second Franz Ferdinand album last night - [info]jessikast, do you want me to burn it for you? How much Franz Ferdinand do you have?

Also a friend is coming round this afternoon to teach me how to get past level 5 of Heroes of Might and Magic V. I would feel tragic about my inability to shoot things and get the girl, but OMG HoMMV is way different to my usual game choices and the shooting things thing is really, really new.
